Our Latest Artists
The internet creates a huge market for original art from artists in the UK. A personal website can be a useful tool for an artist but apart from the people that are already aware of you and your art, your own website may not be so easy to discover among the thousands of other individual artists’ websites. Artists will likely need to promote their website, via word of mouth, social media or paid marketing, to raise awareness of it. This is quite a commitment and artists often find they do not have the time or money to promote their site effectively.
Acquire Art deals with the complicated world of search engine optimisation to create more awareness of your artwork. We also help to promote your own personal website if you have one, by providing a link from your Acquire Art profile page to your own personal site. Simply by pooling a number of artists together, all regularly updating their profiles and adding new artworks, Acquire Art is able to demand a greater presence on the web than an individual artists’ website. With only one individual updating the content these websites will often appear to Google and other search engines to be relatively dormant and tend to get largely ignored and overtaken in the rankings by other more prominent websites. Google prefers websites that grow and change regularly and offer lots of informative content.
We use membership funds to help promote Acquire Art. While around half of our site traffic comes from search engines, the other half comes from social media and in particular, paid ads on social media channels, such as Facebook and Pinterest. We invest in site development, to offer artists more flexibility and improve how visitors use the site. We are constantly working on improving the way in which search engines allow visitors to find us. Although regular new content is added by ourselves and the artist members, we ensure the content is optimised for search engines.
Unlike many other online art galleries and art marketplaces, Acquire Art allows visitors to search for artists and artwork by location, attracting local customers to your work. This is ideal if you would rather your artwork be collected in person. It’s also useful if you work under commission as it is often easier to meet the customer in person to discuss their requirements. Many art lovers will prefer to view original art in person before they buy and are likely to only search for art in their local area for this reason. In this manner, Acquire Art acts very much like a local high street art gallery, whilst still allowing you to attract a wider audience as well. You may choose to offer a delivery service and payment processing via your own website, ebay or paypal, to name a few examples, and this will attract a greater amount of interest by not confining yourself to deal only with those in your local area. Acquire Art leaves that choice up to you and leaves you to trade however you feel most comfortable.
