Our artwork search, which can be found on the left hand side of most pages on our website, allows you to filter your search request to help ensure that as many of the results are as relevant to you as possible.
When you make a selection from any of the drop-down boxes (categories, counties, mediums, price, or a combination of these) be sure to remember to press the ‘Search’ button in order to bring up the results.
The tick box for ‘Exclude sold items’ is un-ticked by default and means that the results will include sold artworks. The majority of artwork on the website will not be for sale, so just tick this box if you wish to exclude these and only see what is available to buy.
Keyword search – this is a useful tool to help you find an artwork you have previously spotted on the website, providing you can remember the artwork title (or part of it), or simply use it to search for artwork depicting a particular subject you are interested in. Simple search requests work best. Use only one keyword if possible. This will look for the corresponding word in artwork titles and artwork descriptions. If for example you wanted to search for all artwork depicting horses, you might type ’horse’ here, and then click the ‘Search’ button. The results will show all artwork where the artwork title or description mentions the word horse (the results will also include words that contain the word horse, such as ‘seahorse’ or ‘horses’). Please be aware that the keyword search is not always able to show all relevant results. For example, artists may create artwork that depicts horses but not necessarily mention the word ‘horse’ or ‘horses’ in the artwork title or artwork description. The effectiveness of this function is very much dependent on how well the artist has titled or described their work.
The keyword search can also be used in conjunction with the other search criteria, although be careful to not make your search too complicated. You could combine a keyword search for ‘horse’ with a particular ‘county’ and ‘price range’ for example.
If you can’t see the category you wish to search for, or the county, medium or price range, then this means there are no results for your specific search. Try a different search.
New artwork is always being added to the website, so if you don’t find what you’re looking for this time, be sure to check again soon.
