Founder of Buckingham Art For All (Bafa) I have been painting for well over 40 years. My preferred medium is oil paints but I do turn my hand to watercolour now and then as I love the way the paint flows and is absorbed by the paper. My painting style, over the last 5 years or so, has changed enormously having attended summer schools in portraiture and landscape given by the Florence Academy of Art.
I do enjoy painting en plein-air in oils however most of my work is completed in the studio from studies and photographs that I have taken myself. Portraits have been accomplished of family and friends but my first love is landscape painting, especially where large skies are involved mainly inspired by the vistas found in North Norfolk.
I enjoy the company of other artists and I regularly meet with a few friends and we are known as 'The Friday Group'.
I am constantly trying to learn from other artists both contemporary and historical with my main influences being John Singer Sargent, Joaquin Sorolla, Rowland Hilder and many others.
