Landscape artist and seascape painter based in Cornwall UK.
My work is inspired by the landscapes in which i live and visit, these include my home in West Cornwall where the land meets the sea. The Isles of Scilly, the Shetland Isles, the Hebrides, Ardnamurchan, Scotland and Dartmoor - I love these wild places and work in the open air with the wind, the sea and the elements all playing a part in my response to the place.
Working mostly in mixed media, I use charcoal, watercolour, oil, acrylic and ink. Sometimes I work large scale on the beach or the cliffs, but I also do tiny watercolour sketches to catch a fleeting change of light or colour. Colour is my primary focus and I am exploring levels of abstraction, feeling that leaving something unsaid gets me closer to feel of the place.
I regularly have work in St Ives society of artists Open exhibitions. View my website for more details about upcoming exhibitions.
